In general, the Yuen Long District increases its population density from 2006. With increasing population, the Yuen Long center is currently densely populated . people with lower affordability would rather locate at the lower density suburbs, leading the expansion of the low density development in Yuen Long South. However, because of the lack of regulation, the Ping Shan area is planned as residential land use instead of open storage or any vacant land.
