      Nanning’s economy kept developing healthfully, rapidly and in phase, indicating a satisfactory state of high speed, great efficiency, strong vitality and powerful stamina. The main economic indexes reach the best levels. In 2004, Nanning’s gross domestic product reached 58.886 billion yuan, up 13.2% compared with the same period of last year. Government revenue reached 7.463 billion yuan, up 22.23% compared with the same period of last year. Agriculture developed in form of scale economy and industrialization. Because of the push of some technological reconstruction projects caused by the gradual flourishing of market demand, there appeared a tendency that the industry developed at a high speed.

      The increase value of industry reached 12.58 billion yuan, up 16.60% compared with the same period of last year.  Gross output value of industry enterprises above designated size reached 26.365 billion yuan, up 24.55% compared with the same period of last year. The increase ratio enhanced 4.99% compared with the same period of last year, which was the highest one in the recent decade. Industry such as business and tourism kept developing rapidly and strongly. Some famous trade enterprises like Dianian Wanda, Wal-mart, Wangfujin and Baisheng entered Naning and did great contribution to the vitality of trade development. The increase value of tertiary industry reached 30.114 billion yuan, up 13.10% compared with the same period of last year.  The total retail sales of consumer goods reached 23.941 billion yuan, up 15.12% compared with the same period of last year..
