What Do We Do?

We sponsor conferences biennially in different Asian hosting countries. These events provide an opportunity for participants to interact with fellow professionals in their field, to hear presentations on the latest developments in GIS, to view state of the art GIS applications, and visit with commercial exhibitors. In addition to conference sessions, full-day workshops are offered in conjunction with these conferences which offer an opportunity to examine specific issues in an in-depth manner.

We publish a newsletter and a membership directory. The newsletter, which is published once a year, includes in-depth papers on a wide variety of topics, short articles about the activities of the association and other news pertinent to members. In addition, AGISA offers every member an annual membership directory in order for easy connection among our members.

We provide a platform to allow members to upload their lastest research results or products in the SHOWCASE area. With the webmaster's authorization, you can upload relevant files to the server to popularize your products or exchange ideas with other members.

What Are Our Plans for the Future?

We have organized a number of committees to expand our services to members. Among our goals is to increase opportunities for students looking to enter the GIS world, to enhance our communications efforts with the addition of a web site, and to expand our membership through an aggressive recruitment effort. Committees have been organized to implement these goals. New ideas are always welcome.
